Neuroradiologist Dr. Blake E. McGehee recruited back to Monroe

Monroe, LA . . . October 21, 2011 – Monroe native Dr. Blake E. McGehee has joined Radiology Associates of Monroe as a Neuroradiologist.

After a microbiology degree from Texas A&M University, Dr. McGehee received his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch. Dr. McGehee completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology, followed by fellowship in Diagnostic Neuroradiology, both at Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Dr. McGehee is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and a member of the American Society of Neuroradiology, American College of Radiology and the Radiological Society of North America. His academic interests include pediatric neuroradiology, stroke imaging and functional brain MRI perfusion imaging.

“Our radiologists share in the general and specialty care of patients,” said John Davis, M.D., Chairman of Radiology at St. Francis Medical Center. “They focus on creating a caring, timely, confidential and respectful experience. We are proud to add Dr. McGehee’s level of skill and talent to our team, and to the care of our patients.”

Both outstanding local Ouachita Christian School (OCS) scholars, Dr. McGehee and his wife, Ashleigh Crowe McGehee, have returned to their hometown, where she also received a degree from ULM as a Radiology Technologist.

“Over the years, Radiology Associates has supported the Scholars’ Banquet, encouraging young people to achieve, and both Blake and Ashleigh are perfect examples of this,” Davis said. “We believe the Monroe area has much to offer and we are excited that they have chosen to come back home.”

Along with the St. Francis Medical Center, Radiology Associates of Monroe will continue to offer—and usher in new—advanced neuroimaging techniques in Ouachita Parish. These techniques can aid in the evaluation and treatment of diseases ranging from acute stroke to brain tumors.
