Radiologist Dr. Michael Barnidge, Jr. recruited back to Monroe

Monroe, LA . . . August 13, 2013- Monroe native, Dr. Michael Barnidge, Jr., has joined Radiology Associates of Monroe as a Radiologist, practicing primarily in St. Francis Medical Center’s facililties in Monroe.


After earning a Biomedical Engineering degree from Louisiana Tech, Dr. Barnidge received his medical degree from LSU Medical Center School of Medicine in Shreveport, Louisiana.  Dr. Barnidge completed both his residency in diagnostic radiology and fellowship in Interventional Radiology with a special interest in Oncology at Texas A&M’s Scott and White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas.


Dr. Barnidge is board certified by the American Board of Radiology, which is a non-profit, physician-led organization that oversees the certification and ongoing professional development of specialists in diagnostic radiology.  He is also a member of the American College of Radiology and the Radiological Society of North America.

Along with the St. Francis Medical Center, Dr. Mike Barraza and Dr. Blake McGehee with Radiology Associates of Monroe have recently enhanced neuroimaging techniques in Ouachita Parish.  The “solitaire extraction technique” is now being used for clot extraction in acute stroke cases.
